I enjoy the beach and spend most of my free time on the ocean beaches of northwest Oregon, specifically the Lower Columbia area (Clatsop county), and Tillamook county. I surf year round, and often crew on sail boats during the weekly sailing club races in the summers. I fish for salmon every fall, and sturgeon in the spring. The kids love crabbing from the local bridges.
I have seen the coastal properties and homes bought and sold here since 1989, and I understand the great value of seashore real estate. Seaside is a wonderful community for raising families, and my family and I bicycle our neighborhood often. We also bicycle on the oceanfront prom. I specialize in ocean front homes. There are two rivers running through Seaside, and we canoe them, looking back at the riverfront and riverview homes. We have an ocean view and wetland view home ourselves, and we see eagles, sea birds, ducks, geese, cranes, herons, whales, seals, deer, elk, raccoons, etcs, all the time. Northwest Oregon is teaming with wildlife.

I coach soccer, and the Warrenton fields are state of the art with leagues and tournaments for all ages, even adult. Check out this link, and here is an excellent soccer site as well. My wife golfs, a year round pastime here. Beach volleyball is a popular sport here, and I believe that they have the biggest western USA beach tournament here every summer. The coast range mountains occasionally get winter snow and there are sledding hills nearby. Hiking and camping are great, and I walk past several ocean front lots every time I climb Tillamook head. The local pool has water polo night, a Jacuzzi, and a tropical temperature pool with a current to swim against. It is in a family oriented neighborhood with more reasonably priced homes. Most of the vacation rentals are closer to the beach.
Map of Seaside, OR
Cannon Beach is blessed with spectacular scenery and is an artists community. Sandcastle day is always a family favorite, and now Seaside has a sand sculpture weekend. I like to ride horses in and on Cannon Beach, and the surrounding hills and valleys are dotted with ranches and farms.

Astoria is a port. Eating in the waterfront restaurants and watching the ships go by is always a great pleasure. It's aquatic center is even bigger than Seaside's, and so is its movie theater. Like Cannon Beach, it is teaming with art galleries, live theater, and live music. The community college is also located there, but there are classes available at the south campus in Seaside too. That was how my wife and I studied conversational French. I hope that you find the related links to your right helpful.
